BMW i8 Concept

Sometimes it is time to leave the city. Escape the restrictions of everyday life. The BMW i8 is an icon of progress. It combines the energizing performance of a sports car with benchmark efficiency.

BMW i8 Concept – emotional, dynamic and efficient.

The concept car BMW Vision EfficientDynamics created excitement and very positive feedback at the IAA 2009. The BMW Vision EfficientDynamics made ​​it clear that an emotional sports car with the fuel economy of a small car is no contradiction, but could soon be reality.
After successful initial testing of the vehicle concept, the decision for a series-production vehicle was quickly made. The BMW i8 Concept is the next step in the evolution of the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept. The result: The most progressive and innovative sports car of its time. Its innovative plug-in hybrid concept combines the modified electric drive system from the BMW i3 Concept – fitted over its front axle – with a high-performance three-cylinder combustion engine producing 164 kW/220 hp and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) at the rear. Working in tandem, they allow the two drive systems to display their respective talents to the full, delivering the performance of a sports car but the fuel consumption of a small car.
Acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under five seconds combined with fuel consumption in the European cycle of 2.7 litres per 100 kilometres (approx. 104 mpg imp) are figures currently beyond the capability of any vehicle powered by a combustion engine of comparable performance. Thanks to the eDrive technology with its large lithium-ion battery, which can be charged from a domestic power supply, the BMW i8 Concept can travel up to 35 kilometres (approx. 20 miles) on electric power alone. Added to which, the 2+2-seater offers enough space for four people, giving it a high level of everyday practicality.
The LifeDrive architecture of the BMW i8 Concept has been carefully adapted to enhance the vehicle's sports car character, and therefore to deliver unbeatable performance and excellent driving dynamics. The motor in the front axle module and combustion engine at the rear are connected by an "energy tunnel", which houses the high-voltage battery. This gives the car a low centre of gravity – and the dynamic benefits that come with it. The positioning of the electric motor and engine over their respective axles and the space-saving and well-balanced packaging of all components result in an optimum 50/50 weight distribution.


It is estimated 2013 Chevrolet Corvette C7 body dimensions will be smaller and use a V8 engine as typically a Corvette. And, according to the times that demanded the preservation of nature, Chevy did not rule out this next-generation 2013 Chevrolet Corvette C7 will have a hybrid variant as well.
The factory in Bowling Green has long been producing Corvette, and since 1981 has been a lot of Corvettes that are enjoyed by consumers.


And what about the appearance of new Corvette? Many have assumed that the presence of 2013 Chevrolet Corvette C7 will be similar to the model Corvette Stingray concept that appears in the event the Chicago Auto Show 2009.
This increased surface because Chevy had revealed his plan implied that the latest-generation Corvette will bring back shades of 1963 with Sting Ray split window design.

Nanish K R

This as yet unnamed car of the future was created by Indian auto designer Nanish K R. Despite its menacing appearance it’s actually very eco-friendly and is on track for a 2020 release. The vehicle is powered by four independent electromagnetic wheels, which are each made of two sliding rings – one being an electromagnet and one being a permanent magnet. The electromagnet is powered by lithium-ion batteries installed on the vehicle’s chassis and gets the same polarity as the permanent magnet. This creates a force which converts the rings into motion.

The CLEVER Concept

CLEVER is an acronym for Compact Low Emission Vehicle for Urban Transport. Designed especially for city dwellers it was created at the Technical University in Berlin, Institute for Motor Vehicles. The vehicle seats two people, requires little space, has a low weight, a low fuel consumption and low emissions.

Peugeot Mo Ville Concept


This tear-shaped, single passenger vehicle was designed by Woo-Ram Lee from France for the 2008 Peugeot Design Contest. Built from the biodegradable plastic the MoVille car is regarded as a zero-emission drive train. The little electric car uses electromagnets in order to rotate the car’s three omnidirectional magnetic ball wheels. The sliding window is used a door to enter/exit the vehicle whilst a second door is integrated and consists of photovoltaic solar cells where the car’s batteries can be recharged.

Aventos Concept Car



Expect most vehicles of the future to be eco-friendly, such as this majestic yellow design from Aventos. Described as a green car (don’t confuse with its colour) the Aventos vehicle promises to reduce the carbon footprint. It can be used as a personal car but its main design has been for transporting good around a city making it primarily an urban vehicle but with a naturist’s touch. Aventos also helps to promote car pooling. A detachable module at the rear also plays the role of nomadic shop.
